If this sounds like you, then don’t fret. If you want a good home workout for men, but you don’t want to spend a fortune on expensive equipment, then that is totally possible. Contrary to popular myth, you don’t need to use weights to build muscle, nor do you need to run 5K to lose weight. It’s all about balance. It’s actually best to have a workout that uses both aerobic exercises and weight exercises. Of course, a good diet is also key. Eating well is perhaps just as important as exercising. Without a good diet, you are wasting your workouts. If you seriously want to be in good shape, it is important you find yourself a good home workout for men, along with a healthy diet.

Home Workout Exercises

If you are a complete newbie when it comes to working out at home, there are some popular exercises that you can try:
Jumping jacks. This exercise requires you to jump whilst spreading your arms and legs out wide and back. Do for at least one minute.
Press-ups. Try to aim for at least 10. But, take it easy. If you have never done a press-up before, simple lay on the floor, face-down with your hands at shoulder-width apart, and push-up and down. This is an extremely common exercise that helps build strength in your core and shoulders. By regularly doing press-ups, you are creating a foundation for your body to work-on. By doing press-ups, it should make shoulder exercises much easier, such as shoulder press and incline bench press.
Squats. These can be done with or without weights. The aim is to keep your back straight and legs at shoulder width apart, whilst moving towards to floor until your knees bend and you are nearly in a sitting position. Alternatively, you could use a medicine ball and use that to move up and down against a wall. Squats are great for building all-round strength, including your thighs. You don’t have to use weights, but the extra resistance makes it more of a challenge. Not only that, but using weights makes it easier for you to know when to stop squatting.
Planks. Similar to press-ups, in that it requires you to get into a similar position, but instead of pressing, you tense. Rest on your forearms and genteelly tense your body to work your core. This exercise is considered a better way of getting ripped abs than doing crunches or sit-ups, because they can cause injury to your back if not done correctly. Planks are an easier way to get an amazing six pack.
Leg drops. This is another great exercise for working your core and abdominal muscles. To perform this exercise, lay on your back with your legs raised. Move your legs towards your abdominals and back, one at a time.
A home workout for men doesn’t have to be difficult, in fact it can be rather easy and enjoyable. If you do wish to use weights, then I suggest:
Bicep curls. Grab a pair of dumbbells and in a controlled manner, curl them towards your body.
Calf raises. This exercise is great for building strength and muscle in your legs. Calves are often forgotten about and are also quite difficult to exercise.
